Dr. Grigory Karmy

Dr. Karmy is a College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSO) recognized specialist in Chronic Pain Management. He is an Adjunct Professor at McMaster University, Department of Family Medicine where he is involved in the teaching of medical residents as well as research. He also held various administrative roles including CPSO Inspector and a supervisor for physicians who are interested in entering the pain management field. Currently, he is the executive of the Ontario Medical Association, Section of Chronic Pain. Dr. Karmy has over 20 years of experience in chronic pain management and over 10 years of experience applying regenerative medicine approaches to treat pain. He is currently the Principal Investigator in the first Health Canada-approved study on Mesenchymal Stem Cell injections for osteoarthritis in Ontario.

Dr. Howard Jacobs

Dr. Howard Jacobs is a highly respected physician licensed in Ontario with over a decade of experience in evaluating and treating chronic head, neck, facial, and spinal pain. A Diplomat of both the American and Canadian Academies of Pain Management, he has held prestigious leadership roles, including Past Chair of the Section of Pain Physicians of the Ontario Medical Association and Past President of the Canadian Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Jacobs has also served as an expert witness in chronic pain cases for Ontario's Financial Insurance Services Commission and the court system. He is a renowned lecturer on chronic pain management, both in Ontario and internationally.

Dr. James Henry

James Henry is a neurophysiologist who has worked throughout his career to understand the underlying mechanisms of acute and chronic pain. In January 2005, he joined McMaster as the inaugural scientific director of the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Pain Research and Care, and as a professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, and Anesthesia. He also holds a newly endowed chair in central pain.

Henry founded the Canadian Consortium on Pain Mechanisms, Diagnosis, and Management, which is comprised of 40 top pain researchers in a multidisciplinary, all-Canadian think-tank to promote pain research, improve pain management, and disseminate information on pain to patients, practitioners, and policymakers.

Dr. Jennifer Woodell-May

Dr. Jennifer Woodell-May, PhD, is a leading expert in orthopedic biologics and a Research Director at Zimmer Biomet. She earned her PhD and MS in Bioengineering from Clemson University and a BS in Physics from Furman University. Since 2001, she has worked in R&D roles at Biomet, Inc., and later Zimmer Biomet, where she manages research for marketed therapies and spearheads pre-clinical, clinical, and regulatory efforts for new technologies.

Passionate about translating scientific innovation from bench to bedside, Dr. Woodell-May values creating therapies that improve patients' quality of life.

Drew Taylor, MSc, PhD

Dr. Drew Taylor is a visionary in regenerative medicine, committed to making advanced, personalized healthcare solutions widely accessible. As the co-founder of Acorn Biolabs in 2017, he has spearheaded innovation in stem cell banking and regenerative health.
