Professor Maria Antoinette Fiatarone Singh is a leading expert in geriatric medicine, exercise physiology, and healthy aging. A Professor at the University of Sydney’s Medical School, she is internationally recognized for her groundbreaking research on progressive resistance training and its impact on frailty, sarcopenia, chronic disease, and functional decline in older adults. Her work has shaped global guidelines on aging and exercise, informed major clinical trials, and improved the quality of life for countless patients. Previously holding positions at Harvard Medical School, Tufts University, and Hebrew SeniorLife, she also leads the Strong Medicine Centre to bring evidence-based programs to the community.
